Ahmedabad, March 13 (Commoditiescontrol): Groundnut prices have stabilized as the groundnut oil market strengthens. Increased crop arrivals due to warmer weather are being balanced by steady demand. Farmers are releasing stockpiles, but traders note some insect damage affecting quality.
Groundnut arrivals are rising in the Saurashtra region, particularly in Gondal and Rajkot. Despite this, prices remain firm due to strong groundnut oil prices, currently trading at Rs 1475 per 10 kg (loose). Potential export demand for loose oil could further support the market.
Today, Gondal Mandi received 11,346 bags (35kg each) with average quality prices ranging from Rs 1196-1271 per 20kg, and top quality fetching Rs 1231-1346 per 20kg. Rajkot Mandi saw 14,000 bags, with average quality at Rs 1020-1235 per 20kg, and best quality at Rs 1015-1315. Total Saurashtra arrivals today were approximately 35,000 bags.
