Ahmedabad, March 9 (Commoditiescontrol): Groundnut prices have remained unchanged as a slow increase in supply fails to meet sluggish demand. Limited activity in both the groundnut oil and export sectors contributes to the market's subdued state.
While arrivals from farmers are increasing due to warmer temperatures, traders express concern. They anticipate a strong crop in states like Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, potentially offsetting lower summer yields in Gujarat and the possibility of some supply from Orissa. If these production forecasts hold true, prices are unlikely to rise significantly in the near future.
Market support hinges on the resurgence of export trade.
