Jaipur, 1 March (Commoditiescontrol) Mustard seed and oil prices were firm in the physical market on Friday while cake prices dropped further due to weak demand. Prices of mustard seed and oil rose tracking firm cues from the international edible oil market. Arrivals of mustard seed were also down as the farmers are now reluctant to liquidate their crop at the rates below MSP.
Prices of mustard seed with 42% conditioned gained Rs 25 to Rs 5,400-5425 per quintal kachchi (excluding GST), in the benchmark market of Jaipur.
Mustard oil expeller prices rose Rs 3 to Rs 1004-1005 per 10kg. Kachchi Ghani prices were also gained Rs 3 to 1014-1015 per 10kg. Mustard cake prices fell Rs 15 to Rs 2520-2525 per quintal in Jaipur.
Total arrivals of mustard seed were around 8 lakh bags across the country, down 70,000 bags from last session. Arrivals of mustard seed were around 3.5 lakh bags in Rajasthan, 1.15 lakh bags in Madhya Pradesh, 1.05 lakh bags in Uttar Pradesh, 15,000 bags in Punjab and Haryana and 70,000 bags in Gujarat. The major markets of states received around 1.45 lakh bags of mustard seed.
At Kandla port, CPO prices rose Rs 4 to Rs 865 per 10kg and RBD palmolein prices were flat at Rs 885 per 10 kg. Soyoil refine prices steady at Rs 950 per 10 kg. Degum prices also stayed steady at Rs 875 per 10 kg. Sunflower refine oil prices were quoted Rs 5 higher Rs 930 per 10 kg.
