Mumbai, 10 May 2024 (Commoditiescontrol): Moong prices have once again maintain stable tone on Friday, across major mandis despite increasing arrivals. This was due to stockiest and mills replensihing theri stock with news moong. Amost all the major mandis remained closed due to Akshaya Tritiya.
Experts anticipate a gradual decline in moong prices as new harvests become available, with millers likely to adopt a need-based procurement strategy. However, the impending heatwave is expected to limit arrivals, and strong demand at lower price levels should provide short-term support. While a sharp price increase is unlikely until arrival pressures subside, prices are projected to remain within a broad range for the foreseeable future.
In Madhya pradesh prices are expected to weaken in the coming days by Rs 200-300 due to new arrivals from Madhya Pradesh's Khirkiya, Harda, and Pipariya mandis. Pressure on old moong stock is anticipated to be greater, as stockists and mills are likely to liquidate existing stock and replenish with new arrivals.
