Ahmedabad, May 10 (CommoditiesControl): Several mandis in Saurashtra and other parts of Gujarat remained closed on account of Akshaya Tritiya, impacting the arrival of coriander. Despite the reduced arrivals, the price of coriander remained stable due to limited demand. The market awaits increased demand in the coming days, which could potentially support prices and lead to a rise.
Around 15,000 bags of coriander, each bag weighing 40 kg, arrived in Saurashtra today. Prior to this, the average price of coriander ranged from Rs 1350 to Rs 1550 per 20 kg.
In Gondal Mandi, 7,000 bags were traded at prices ranging from Rs 1461 to Rs 1751. Similarly, in Rajkot Mandi, prices ranged from Rs 1225 to Rs 1565 against an arrival of 1,700 bags.
Halvad Mandi remained closed today, while 400 sacks arrived in Jetpur, 1,650 sacks in Jamjodhpur, 1,200 sacks in Junagadh, 200 sacks in Amreli, and 700 sacks in Jamnagar. Additionally, other mandis saw arrivals ranging from 1,700 to 1,900 sacks.
Dhaniya contract for MAY delivery settled at Rs 7170/quintal showing an fall of Rs -102 over previous close of Rs 7272/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7160-7270 for the day. Open interest decreased by -5120 MT to 5810 MT, while trading volume increased by 3680 to 8445 MT.
Dhaniya contract for JUN delivery settled at Rs 7280/quintal showing an fall of Rs -96 over previous close of Rs 7376/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7264-7380 for the day. Open interest increased by 5235 MT to 23930 MT, while trading volume increased by 3500 to 8155 MT.
Currently The spread between MAY and JUN contract is -110 Rs/quintal.
