Mumbai, 06 May 2024 (Commoditiescontrol): As summer arrivals surge, the prices of new moong have witnessed a decline in key markets of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. In Madhya Pradesh, prices experienced a dip ranging from Rs 200-400 per quintal, while Gujarat observed a decline of Rs 120 per quintal.
Conversely, in Rajasthan, the influx of high-quality (chamki) produce has bolstered prices, particularly in markets like Kishangarh, where a rise of Rs 300 per quintal was witnessed.
As per trade sources prices will continue to face downward pressure as arrivals escalate due to favorable crop conditions for summer moong crop. With peak arrivals on the horizon, the market anticipates sustained pressure on prices in the nearterm.
