Mumbai, May 3 (CommoditiesControl): The groundnut market continues to exhibit strength as both old and new groundnuts see a consistent influx. Notably, 25-50 bags of summer peanuts have recently made their way to the Vyara Centre in Gujarat and the Savarkundla area of Saurashtra. Anticipated is a rise in the arrival of new peanuts in the forthcoming days.
Market observers suggest that while current selling activity remains subdued, a surge in peanut arrivals is expected post the ongoing elections, with a potential uptick anticipated after May 15. Presently, there exists limited demand for finished goods in the market, which could potentially improve demand conditions.
Today witnessed the arrival of approximately 12,000 bags (1 bag = 35kg) in the Gondal Mandi, fetching prices ranging from Rs 1221-1466 for average quality and Rs 1241-1381 for the best quality per 20 kg.
Meanwhile, 7,500 bags arrived in the Rajkot Mandi today, commanding prices of Rs 1100-1271 for average quality and Rs 1110-1338 for the best quality per 20 kg. Notably, an estimated 25,000 bags of peanuts are anticipated to arrive in Saurashtra today.
As the summer peanut season unfolds, the market braces for potential shifts in demand and supply dynamics, setting the stage for further developments in the coming weeks.
