Mumbai, May 2, (Commoditiescontrol): U.S. soybean processors crushed 203.7 million bushels of soybeans during March 2024, up from 193.9 million bushels in February 2024. This was a record for the month but still short of analyst expectations of 205.6 million bushels. The crush for the first seven months of the 2023-2024 marketing year is up 5% from the same period last year. In order to meet USDA forecasts, crush will need to average 2.5% above year-ago levels over the final five months of the marketing year.
Soybean oil stocks were up from February but down from last year at 2.369 billion pounds. Crude soy oil production increased 5% from February and 3% from March 2023. Refined soybean oil production increased 10% from February but fell 1% from March 2023.
