Mumbai, May 1, 2024 (CommoditiesControl): The groundnut market is experiencing a period of subdued activity, characterized by minimal trade in groundnut oil and groundnut cake. This lack of momentum is reflecting on the stability of groundnut prices, with no significant fluctuations observed today. Traders attribute this trend to the prevailing anticipation surrounding summer peanuts, which has dampened business prospects.
In Gondal Mandi, today's arrivals amounted to approximately 13,012 sacks (1 sack = 35kg). Prices remained steady, with average quality groundnuts trading between Rs 1,196-1,446 and the best quality commanding prices of Rs 1,221-1,351 per 20 kg.
Similarly, in Rajkot Mandi, around 8,000 bags were received today. Average quality groundnuts were priced between Rs 1,120-1,282, while the best quality fetched prices ranging from Rs 1,140-1,325 per 20 kg. Saurashtra witnessed an influx of approximately 22,000-25,000 bags of peanuts on the market today.
The prevailing market conditions indicate a stable pricing environment amidst sluggish trading activity.
