Mumbai, April 25 (Commoditiescontrol): Peanut market shows modest seed demand, with prices remaining steady. Demand for downstream products like peanut oil and peanut meal is currently subdued. Market analysts anticipate increased demand for early sowing, with new planting activity likely to commence after May 15th.
Key regional markets saw significant arrivals today: Gondal Mandi received roughly 12,685 bags (35 kg each) of peanuts, priced at Rs 1211-1350 per 20kg for average quality and Rs 1221-1316 for best quality.
Rajkot Mandi saw arrivals of 10,000 bags, with average-quality prices at Rs 1120-1265 per 20 kg and best quality at Rs 1101-1335.
Combined arrivals in the Saurashtra region totalled approximately 30,000 bags.
The stable prices despite seed demand suggest a balanced supply/demand situation in the short term. Increased sowing activity could potentially shift market dynamics in the coming weeks.
