April 25 (CommoditiesControl) : Today witnessed a decrease in castor arrivals in Gujarat by approximately 20,000 bags compared to the previous day. Traders attribute this to heightened market activity following a period of subdued trading resembling holiday-like conditions over the past three days. However, the arrival from Rajasthan notably decreased today. Consequently, prices experienced a decline of Rs 10-15 per 20 kg due to constrained demand.
According to market reports, today's arrival in Gujarat amounted to around 1,35,000 bags (1 bag = 35 kg). The election-related disruptions led to a reduction in arrivals from Rajasthan to 8,000-10,000 bags, while direct Milo saw a total arrival of approximately 1,53,000-1,55,000 bags. Castor prices ranged between Rs 1,110-1,125 per 20 kg.
In the futures market, prices started trading at lower levels in the morning but showed marginal improvement towards the end of the day, prompting traders to raise prices. Morning prices for Jagana Sheparso started at Rs 1,160 and eventually settled at Rs 1,162, while N.K. Kandla maintained stability at Rs 1,170-1,175 throughout the day. Similarly, Kandla delivery Sharat for Reddy-Reddy castor oil started at Rs 1,163 in the morning and concluded at Rs 1,165-1,166 per 10 kg.
On NCDEX, as of 16:50 hrs, the May contract for castor was trading at Rs 5,786 per quintal, representing an increase of Rs 13, while the June contract stood at Rs 5,843 per quintal, also up by Rs 13.
