New Delhi, April 20 (Commodities Control): Cotton prices maintained stability in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday, primarily due to limited demand from spinning mills and a decrease in daily arrivals of Kapas in the state's mandis.
Traders reported that new export deals for cotton are currently minimal, and local demand for cotton yarn has also decreased compared to previous weeks. Consequently, spinning mills in the state are procuring cotton in limited quantities, leading to price stabilization.
However, farmers in the state possess a limited outstanding stock of Kapas, while stockists are not reducing prices, further contributing to the stabilization of prices. Under these circumstances, minimal fluctuations in cotton prices are anticipated. Meanwhile, Kapas and cottonseed prices also remained stable.
Today, the arrival of Kapas in the state's producing markets amounted to 1,800 bales, with each bale weighing 170 kg, compared to 2,000 bales on the previous working day.
