New Delhi, April 20 (Commodities Control): Cotton prices maintained stability in Lower Rajasthan on Saturday, attributed to limited purchases by spinning mills in the region.
While there was a slowdown in prices during the current week, ginners are facing profitability challenges at lower price levels, and simultaneously, the spinning mills in the state are holding lesser outstanding stock of cotton.
Consequently, mills may need to procure cotton in the upcoming days, but the direction of price movements will mainly depend on global market trends. Concurrently, Kapas and cottonseed prices have also stabilized in the state.
Today, the arrival of Kapas in the markets of Lower Rajasthan amounted to 300 bales, with each bale weighing 170 kg, while no arrivals reported on the previous trading day.
