Mumbai, April 19 (CommoditiesControl): Domestic pepper prices in major markets have witnessed a decline following a recent surge. Prices have dropped by Rs 300-400 per quintal as export demand increased in recent weeks, narrowing the price differential between India and other countries significantly.

In Cochin, garbled pepper is priced at Rs 57,300 per quintal, while ungarbled pepper stands at Rs 55,300 per quintal. Karnataka saw pepper prices ranging between Rs 55,200 and Rs 57,500 per quintal.

Meanwhile, in Vietnam, pepper prices have shown an uptick of VND 2,000-2,500 per kg due to strong demand, trading between VND 92,000 and 92,500 per kg. Global FOB prices have remained stable to weak, with Indonesia experiencing a decline while other destinations remain steady.

Domestic prices are anticipated to trade stable to firm as demand strengthens. Additionally, the rising prices in Vietnam are expected to bolster domestic prices further.
