Mumbai, April 18 (Commoditiescontrol): Thailand's sugar production is projected to decrease significantly in the 2023-2024 production year. According to the head of the Office of Sugar and Cane Board, the country is expected to produce 8.71 million tonnes of sugar, marking a 21.17% decline compared to the previous year's output.

The anticipated drop in sugar production is attributed to various factors, including unfavourable weather conditions and shifts in agricultural practices. This decline may affect Thailand's sugar industry, which plays a role in the nation's economy and international trade.

Thailand is a significant sugar exporter, and the reduced production could impact its position in the global sugar market.
