Coriander Prices Improve in Gujarat on Decreased Arrival

Ahmedabad, April 18 (CommoditiesControl): The price of coriander witnessed an improvement of Rs 10-15 per 20 kg in the spot market today, driven by a decline in its arrival in the state. Traders observed a gradual decrease in the arrival of coriander, which had a noticeable impact on the market dynamics. Additionally, stockists began purchasing goods, providing further support to the coriander market amidst lower prices.

Coriander traders in Rajkot reported that around 27 lakh bags of coriander have arrived in Gujarat so far.

Today, around 24,500 sacks of coriander, each weighing 40 kg, were recorded in the state. Prior to this, the average price of coriander remained stable at Rs 1370-1570 per 20 kg.

In Gondal Mandi, 17,000 bags were pending, out of which 14,255 bags were traded at prices ranging from Rs 1451 to Rs 1851. Similarly, in Rajkot Mandi, where 5500 bags arrived, prices ranged from Rs 1251 to Rs 1740.

Additional arrivals were reported as follows: 1200 sacks in Halvad, 900 sacks in Jetpur, 5000 sacks in Jamjodhpur, 2300 sacks in Junagadh, 500 sacks in Amreli, 3000 sacks in Jamnagar, 500 sacks in Dhangadhra, and 5000 sacks from other mandis.

Dhaniya contract for APR delivery settled at Rs 7450/quintal showing an rise of Rs 68 over previous close of Rs 7382/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7450-7450 for the day. Open interest decreased by -235 MT to 310 MT, while trading volume decreased by -65 to 155 MT.

Dhaniya contract for MAY delivery settled at Rs 7610/quintal showing an rise of Rs 70 over previous close of Rs 7540/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7560-7650 for the day. Open interest decreased by -225 MT to 26090 MT, while trading volume decreased by -85 to 2355 MT

Currently The spread between APR and MAY contract is -160 Rs/quintal
