China aluminium production up 7.4 % to 3.59 mln tonnes in March stats bureau

Mumbai, 16 Apr (Commoditiescontrol): China's aluminium production rose by 7.4 % to 3.59 million tonnes in March from a year earlier, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday.

In the first three months of the year, China produced 10.69 million tonnes, a rise of 6.8 % from the same period last year, the data showed.

Production of ten nonferrous metals – including copper, aluminium, lead, zinc and nickel – rose 7.1 % to 6.67 million tonnes from a year earlier. Year-to-date output was up 7.0 % at 19.45 million tonnes. The other non-ferrous metals are tin, antimony, mercury, magnesium and titanium.
