Stability Prevails in Domestic and Vietnamese Pepper Prices

Mumbai, April 4 (CommoditiesControl): Domestic pepper prices in major markets remained stable following a significant uptick. Domestic pepper prices rose by Rs 3,800 per quintal from its recent lows, supported by strong demand at relatively lower price levels. Market participants highlight a surge in export demand in recent weeks, fueled by reduced differentials between Indian and international prices.

In the domestic market, garbled pepper prices in Cochin are reported at Rs 55,600 per quintal, while ungarbled peppers are priced at Rs 53,600. Similarly, pepper prices in Karnataka ranged between Rs 53,800 and Rs 56,000 per quintal.

Across the Vietnamese market, pepper prices remained stable, with prices ranging from VND 92,000 to 94,500 per kg compared to the previous session. However, prices are anticipated to face pressure as arrivals peak in the coming period. Despite this, global Free on Board (FOB) prices were reported as stable across major origins.
