Jaipur, 28 March (Commoditiescontrol) Mustard seed prices were flat in the benchmark market of Jaipur and some other major trading centres of the country on Thursday. However, cake and oil prices gained on improved demand at lower level. As per the traders, the govt agencies have begun procuring mustard seed in some areas and the industry body has demand to establish procurement centres in all major market areas to facilitate the purchase of oilseed at MSP. The govt has fixed MSP for mustard seed at Rs 5,650 per quintal. Currently, prices of mustard seed are ruling much below its MSP.
Prices of mustard seed with 42% conditioned stayed steady at Rs 5,450-5475 per quintal kachchi (excluding GST), in the benchmark market of Jaipur.
Mustard oil expeller prices gained Rs 2 to Rs 1016-1017 per 10kg. Kachchi Ghani prices also rose Rs 2 to 1026-1027 per 10kg. Mustard cake prices gained Rs 25 to Rs 2495-2500 per quintal in Jaipur.
Total arrivals of mustard seed were around 7.75 lakh bags across the country. Arrivals of mustard seed were around 4.5 lakh bags in Rajasthan, 70000 bags in Madhya Pradesh, 75000 bags in Uttar Pradesh, 65000 bags in Punjab and Haryana and 25,000 bags in Gujarat. The major markets of states received around 90000 bags of mustard seed.
