Mustard seed, oil&cake prices fall on slow buying

Jaipur, 22 March (Commoditiescontrol) Mustard seed, oil and cake prices dropped on Friday due to slow buying. As per the traders, the processors and the stockiest are now reluctant to increase their stock position at higher level.

Prices of mustard seed with 42% conditioned stayed steady at Rs 5,475-5500 per quintal kachchi (excluding GST), in the benchmark market of Jaipur.
Mustard oil expeller prices fell Rs 10 to Rs 1029-1030 per 10kg. Kachchi Ghani prices also dropped Rs 10 to 1039-1040 per 10kg. Mustard cake prices fell Rs 5 to Rs 2480-2485 per quintal in Jaipur.

Total arrivals of mustard seed were around 14.25 lakh bags across the country. Arrivals of mustard seed were around 7.5 lakh bags in Rajasthan, 1.75 lakh bags in Madhya Pradesh, 1.75 lakh bags in Uttar Pradesh, one lakh bags in Punjab and Haryana and 55,000 bags in Gujarat. The major markets of states received around 1.70 lakh bags of mustard seed.
