Ahmedabad, March 16 (Commodities Control): Coriander prices in Gujarat experienced an increase of Rs 15-20 per 20 kg today, driven by increased purchasing activity at lower prices. The market saw around 30,000 bags of fresh coriander arriving, with pending stocks in several mandis across Saurashtra region.

New arrivals have been halted in key mandis including Rajkot, Jamjodhpur, Gondal, and Jamnagar, with operations expected to remain closed until Monday. Given the current circumstances, significant movements in the market are unlikely in the near term.

Today, around 30,000 bags of coriander, each weighing 40 kg, arrived in Gujarat. Prices saw improvement due to demand ahead of arrivals, averaging at Rs 1,390-1,890 per 20 kg.

A trader from Gondal reported that 14,100 bags of pending goods were traded at Rs 1,626-2,151 per 20 kg. In Rajkot Mandi, 12,000 pending bags were traded at Rs 1,400-1,950 per 20 kg.

Other markets also witnessed notable activity, with 4,500 sacks in Halvad, 2,000 sacks in Dhangadhra, 3,000 sacks in Jetpur, 3,100 sacks in Junagadh, 5,000 sacks in Amreli, and an additional 7,000-8,000 sacks in other mandis.
