Mumbai, March 15 (CommoditiesControl): Following a recent session of recovery, prices for small cardamom are anticipated to experience a slight increase in major markets. The market dynamics indicate that the demand for Ramadan has been adequately met, which, coupled with a recent price hike, is expected to exert additional pressure on prices. Nonetheless, prices have rebounded from a five-month low, driven by robust demand at lower price levels.
The average price per kilogram has seen a marginal rise from Rs 1,365-1,403 in the previous session to Rs 1,365-1,403 this time. Meanwhile, the maximum price per kilogram has increased from Rs 2,013 to Rs 2,568. However, the average price has remained below Rs 1,500 per kilogram.
Reports suggest that grade-specific rates have remained steady following a weak session. Prices for 7 mm grades range from Rs 1,480 to Rs 1,550 per kilogram, while prices for grades 7-8 mm stand between Rs 1,600 to Rs 1,700 per kilogram. Moreover, prices for grades 8 mm and higher range from Rs 1,900 to Rs 2,000 per kilogram.
Arrivals have shown improvement, rising from 75,413 to 91,230 kilograms. The total offtake has been reported as 90,542 kilograms, marking an increase from 75,413 kilograms in the previous session, primarily due to the surge in arrivals. With the recent decline in prices, demand has been robust, evidenced by a daily offtake of 99%.
