Ahmedabad, March 13 (CommoditiesControl): Gujarat witnessed a significant arrival of coriander today, as more than 75,000 bags arrived into the market, with each bag weighing 40 kg. Yesterday in Gondal Mandi, the market saw arrivals leading to trade exclusively from pending sacks today. New arrivals were halted in the Jamjodhpur mandi as well, indicating saturation until there's adequate space in the market. Consequently, due to the imbalance between supply and demand in the state, coriander prices experienced a softening by Rs 20-30 per 20 kg.
A Gondal trader revealed that out of 1.10 lakh pending bags, 30,000-35,000 bags were traded today. The average trade price of coriander in the state ranged from Rs 1450 to 1950 per 20 kg.
In Rajkot Mandi, new arrivals were suspended on Tuesday, resulting in today's arrival of 25,000 bags of coriander. Trading occurred at prices ranging from Rs 1341 to 1950 per 20 kg.
Across various regions, coriander stocks were reported as follows: 8000 sacks in Halvad, 2500 sacks in Dhangadhra, 4000 sacks in Jetpur, 4200 sacks in Junagadh, 8000 sacks in Amreli, and an additional 10,000-12,000 sacks in the surrounding areas.
Dhaniya contract for APR delivery settled at Rs 8050/quintal showing an fall of Rs -76 over previous close of Rs 8126/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 8050-8148 for the day. Open interest decreased by -205 MT to 21530 MT, while trading volume decreased by -2145 to 2210 MT.
Dhaniya contract for MAY delivery settled at Rs 8122/quintal showing an fall of Rs -64 over previous close of Rs 8186/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 8122-8210 for the day. Open interest increased by 210 MT to 5380 MT, while trading volume decreased by -670 to 420 MT.
Currently The spread between APR and MAY contract is -72 Rs/quintal.
