Mumbai, March 01 (Commodities Control): Clove prices have maintained stability in various markets. Prices in Kottayam range between Rs. 860 and Rs. 870 per kilogram for the Comoros, Rs. 860 to Rs. 880 in Madagascar, and Rs. 890 to Rs. 920 per kilogram for Sri Lanka. After declining for two sessions, domestic clove prices in Kottayam are expected to remain stable at Rs. 950 to Rs. 980 per kg. Higher supply due to increased imports and decreased exports is putting pressure on domestic market prices.
Domestic prices have declined after a prolonged period of stability, owing to excess supply caused by increased imports. Shimoga's price per kilogram is between Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 1,020, consistent with the previous session. Clove stems were priced at Rs 160 per kilogram in Kottayam, consistent with the previous session.
