New Wheat Arrival On Upside In Rajasthan, Procurement To Support Prices

NEW DELHI (Commodities control) Wheat arrival is picking up gradually in Rajasthan mandis. The arrival was noted at 1.25 lakh bags in Madhya Pradesh mandis. Yet, the wheat prices remained steady. Duplcate Sharbati wheat in Kota and mill quality wheat in Kanpur succeeded to gain. Traders expect that the prices are likely to gain when government’s procurement will begin.

New wheat arrival was about 5000 bags in Hadouti region of Rajasthan. It was sold between Rs. 1750-2050 per quintal as per variety. Last season’s mill quality wheat declined Rs. 5 per quintal. But Duplicate Sharbari wheat gained Rs. 25 to Rs. 1650-1725 per quintal in Kota mandis. A trader from Bundi mandis Mr. Uttar Jethwani said that wheat prices are likely to gain 100-125 per quintal when demand will pick up. New wheat arrival may reach to 20,000 bags within one week.

Wheat prices remained stable in MP mandis despite new arrival of 1.25 lakh bags. New wheat of various varieties is sold between Rs. 1700-2000 per quintal in mandis. According to traders, wheat prices may rise when government’s procurement will begin which is getting delay. As per latest government’s planning, procurement will start from first April.

The prices gained Rs. 15 per quintal in Kanpur. It was sold at Rs. 1690-1700 per quintal as demand improved from flour millers. Current prices of old wheat are considered very attractive so millers were buying aggressively. Wheat prices were stable on other mandis.
