Coriander Loses Colour amid Weak Buying, Arrivals Pressure; Futures End Mixed

Jaipur (Commodities Control) - New coriander has been feeling the heat of rising arrivals in mandis of Rajasthan, as buyers sideline themselves in wait-and-watch mode. Coriander prices have been witnessing a slope due to lack of big buyers, however traders are not anticipating a bear trend here. Futures contract on NCDEX for April '21 ends nearly 1% higher at Rs 7354/Quintal, while May'21 contract closes in red.

State mandis witnessed arrivals of 31,500 bags,of which 28,000 bags consisted of new coriander.

Rajasthan spice market registered price fall of Rs 120-150 per Quintal during the early session of auction. However, prices recovered by afternoon session and ended with moderate losses of Rs 50-100 per Quintal.

Badami variety at Ramganj mandi was quoted at Rs 5400-5650, while Eagle variety was priced at Rs 5700-5900 per Quintal. New coriander at Ramganj mandi was quoted at Rs 4180-4300 per Quintal at the lower end, while it was priced at Rs 5700-5900 on the higher end. At Kota na d Baran mandi, lower grade coriander was priced at Rs 4080/Quintal and Upper grade was quoted at Rs 5800/Quintal.

Local spice millers actively participated on Wednesday alongside buyers from Delhi, Maharashtra, tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat . Stockists are closely eyeing the pace of arrivals, which are expected to rise during the ongoing week.

Mandis of Rajasthan reported arrivals of 3,500 bags of old coriander. Rmaganj witnessed total arrivals of 21,500 bags, Kota mandi-- 3,200 bags, Baran mandi--2200 bags and Jaipur mandi-- 1750 bags.
