NEW DELHI (Commodities control) There was thin trade today in wheat market. Current rainy weather in many northern states subdued market sentiments so wheat prices came in pressure. Bullish trend discontinued today and the prices steadied in mostly market. Bareilly market witnessed down fall of Rs. 20 per quintal as millers reduced arrival.

According to trader from Bundi Mr. Uttam Jethwani, farmers were reluctant for bringing their crop so total arrival reduced to mere 5000 bags in Hadouti region of Rajasthan from average arrival of 10000-12000 bags a day. Similarly, millers and other buyers were also indifferent for fresh buying. Bullish trend was absent in the market so wheat prices remained stable. Same trend noted in Delhi and other cities. Millers’ lower buying caused for down fall in Bareilly where wheat prices slipped Rs. 20 to Rs. 1780-1800 per quintal.

According to traders, wheat prices will take upward trend but current weather is not supportive. Farmers avoid to bring crop due to logistic issues in rainy season. Flour millers and bulk consumers also take cautious approach for handling wheat and it’s products. It is to be noted moisture can cause of losses for wheat flour, Maida and Sooji.
