Cotton Prices Steady In Karnataka as Mill Demand Slows, Arrivals Rise

Mumbai (Commodities Control) - Cotton prices were quoted steady as yarn mills' demand slowed from higher levels in Karnataka. The fibre rose Rs 100 per candy here in the last session. The State reported increased arrivals on Tuesday.

State mandis registered daily arrivals of 1200 bales vs 1100 bales in the last session. 31 mm cotton was quoted at Rs 38,300-38,500 per candy and 30 mm cotton in Karnataka was quoted at Rs 37,800-38,000 per Candy, while 29 mm cotton was priced at Rs 37,300-37,500 per Candy. In Bellary, 30mm was priced at Rs 36,800-900 per candy. Bijapur 29-30mm cotton was quoted at Rs 36,500-37,000 per candy. Kapas was priced at Rs 4,000-5275 and cottonseed was quoted at Rs 2200-2650 per quintal. Nationwide cotton arrivals were reported at 22,600 bales on Tuesday, with North India registering arrivals at 6,000 bales and 3,000 bales were witnessed in Upper Rajasthan. Gujarat reported arrivals of 5,000 bales of cotton today and 3,000 bales were registered in Maharashtra, while M.P. witnessed arrivals of 2,200 bales and Andhra Pradesh-Telangana together registered arrivals of 1900 bales of cotton. Karnataka witnessed arrivals of 1,200 bales of cotton today. (Commodities Control Bureau)
