Red Chilli Prices Decline in Guntur Mandi Amid Higher Arrivals

Mumbai (Commodities Control) - Red chilli prices crack lower in Guntur mandi, after prior sessions of firmness amid robust export demand. Red chilli prices in Warangal mandi of telangana were mixed amid higher arrivals on Thursday.

Prices declined by Rs 2-7 per Kg in Guntur mandi amid arrivals of 75,000 bags vs 70,000 bags in the last session. Red chilli varieties 273 and Singenta shed Rs 2 at Rs 120-148 and Rs 120-145 per Kg, respectively. Meanwhile, 341 and 4884 declined Rs 3 and Rs 2 per Kg, respectively. DD variety gave up Rs 7 at Rs 140-160 and No.5, Teja varieties dropped Rs 3 each to be quoted at Rs 120-155 and Rs 150-175 per Kg, respectively, on Thursday. Guntur 334/S10 variety lost Rs 4 to be quoted at Rs 110-128 per Kg today.


It is to be noted that Warangal registered arrivals of nearly 8,000 bags vs 7,000 bags on 23rd September. Teja and Wonderhot varieties of red chilli rose Rs 3 and Rs 4, respectively. 334, Tomato and 1048 varieties were priced steady on thursday. Meanwhile 341 variety dropped Rs 2 to be priced at Rs 130-150 per Kg.


Meanwhile, a report by the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University’s Domestic and Export Market Intelligence Cell (Demic) suggests that the price of red chillies are seen sliding lower to Rs 8,500-Rs 9,000 for the crop that is to be cultivated during October-November.

Experts at the cell robust chilli harvest in Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh this year.
