Cotton Prices Steady In Karnataka amid Tight Arrivals, Frail Demand

Mumbai (Commodities Control) - Mill demand has bare minimum at prevailing rates due to which cotton prices were quoted steady in Karnataka. Cotton prices shot up Rs 400 per candy in the state mandis earlier this week.

Also cotton arrivals will rise next month onwards.State mandis registered daily arrivals of 400 bales similar to that on Thursday.

30 mm cotton in Karnataka was quoted at Rs 37,700-37,900 per Candy, while 29 mm cotton was priced at Rs 37,200-37,400 per Candy.

Nationwide cotton arrivals were reported at 9,000 bales on Monday, with North India registering arrivals at 1,200 bales and 1,500 bales were witnessed in Upper Rajasthan. Gujarat reported arrivals of 1,000 bales of cotton today and 2000 bales were registered in Maharashtra, while M.P. witnessed arrivals of 1200 bales and Andhra Pradesh-Telangana together registered arrivals of 1700 bales of cotton. Karnataka witnessed arrivals of 400 bales of cotton today.
