Spot Cardamom Prices Up; Futures Down

MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - Small cardamom prices gained by Rs 200 per kg at major auction centres in Kerala on Wednesday due to the weak arrivals.

The auctioneer Idukki Dist Traditional Cardamom Producer Company Ltd offered 18.9 tonnes of spice. Out of which the entire stock was sold. The average price realized was Rs 2,966.24 per kg. While the highest price quoted for selected lots was Rs 3,482 per kg.

The cardamom March contract on MCX settled lower by 0.84 percent at Rs 2,855//kg.

According to traders,, prices were up today as demand emerged at lower levels after the one-sided decline of the previous days
