Spot Jeera Remains Steady Amid New Crop Arrivals

MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - Spot jeera prices ruled steady at the major Unjha market in Gujarat on Tuesday amid arrivals of new crop.

Today about 6,700 bags of jeera arrived at the Unjha market. A total of 4,500 bags of new jeera also arrived at the Gondal mandi today. While, there were about 9,000 bags of pending spice.

The price of rough jeera was at Rs 2430-2530 per 20 kg, while NCDEX variety ruled at Rs 2600-2650 per 20 kg.

According to traders, prices are under pressure from the upper levels due to rising arrivals.

Jeera for delivery in March at the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) ended higher by Rs 55 or 0.4 percent at Rs 13,670 per quintal, after moving in the range of Rs 13,705 and Rs 13,550 per quintal.
