Spot Pepper Prices Up 2.5% This Week

MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - Spot pepper prices gained for the sixth straight day at the major Kochi market in Kerala on Friday due to the increase in demand from North India.

The price of garbled moved higher by Rs 2 to trade at Rs 336/kg, while ungarbled ruled at Rs 316/kg.

According to traders, prices have been supported by increasing demand from North India. In fact, the demand for black pepper has improved since the start of the wedding season. The market is also very positive about Holi next month.

During this week, its price has increased by around 2.5 percent.
