Spot Red Chilli Nosedives On Higher Arrivals

MUMBAI (Commoditiescontrol) - The price of red chilli prices nosedived by up to Rs 52 per kg at the major Guntur and Warangal markets on Monday after rise in the new crop arrivals.

The price of Teja variety at Guntur softened by Rs 43 to 165-170 per kg, while at Warangal it ruled lower by Rs 25 at Rs 150-Rs 180 per kg. The price of DD variety witnessed maximum decline of Rs 52 per kg.

A total of 65,000 bags of new red chilli arrived at the Guntur mandi today, while new crop arrival stood at 13,000 bags at the Warangal mandi.

According to traders, after Pongal's leave, farmers have started bringing more new crops. It is believed that in the coming days, the arrival will increase further.
