Mumbai (Commoditiescontrol) – Domestic tur slipped on Wednesday at selective markets amid slow millers trade activity as demand and sale counters in processed Tur from wholesale/retail counters are thin.

Tur lemon variety of Burma origin priced weak by Rs 50-75 at Rs 4,850/100Kg and Rs 5,250, respectively in Mumbai and Delhi market due to slack trade activity at higher rates in the wake of cash crunch.

Moreover, supply of around 33,255.966 MT imported Tur at Nhava Sheva port in August month has pressurised sentiments. Import breakup country-wise - Burma: 20698.466 MT, Malawi:4497.5 MT, Mozambique:2728 MT, Tanzania:3645 MT, Sudan:1687 MT.

Buyers are cautious and purchasing only as per their immediate requirement for crushing due to supply from overseas and as Nafed is holding old procured stock.

However, supply pressure from overseas will be lower against government allocated quota of four lakh tonnes to import till October 31 as imports are not viable.Further depreciation of Rupee from current level will also make import costlier.
