Ahmedabad, May 1 (CommoditiesControl): The cumin market is experiencing rapid price increases, driven by robust export demand. Currently, sales in cumin are relatively low, but the market has received significant support from strong export business, leading to a substantial increase in export prices by Rs 150 to 200 per quintal in a single day.

Today, the price of cumin in the state improved by Rs 50 per 20 kg in the spot market. Over the last three days, cumin prices have surged by Rs 150 per 20 kg.

Cumin traders emphasize that despite relatively low sales in the market, the current market is buoyed by robust demand. The price of Europe quality cumin has reached Rs 5000 per 20 kg. If export trade continues to increase even marginally at this price, the market is poised to receive further support.

According to traders, around 25,000 sacks arrived in Unja Mandi today. The price of rough cumin ranged from Rs 3850 to 4150 per 20 kg, while the best quality commanded prices of Rs 4550 to 4750 per 20 kg. Meanwhile, the price of Bombay Bold variety was between Rs 4750 and 5550 per 20 kg.

In Gondal Mandi, where arrival of 1238 bags were recorded, prices ranged from Rs 4451 to 4661 per 20 kg. Similarly, in Rajkot Mandi, where around 1500 bags arrived, prices ranged from Rs 3950 to 4600 per 20 kg.
