New Delhi, May 20 (Commodities Control): Cotton prices remained stable in the markets of Maharashtra for the fourth consecutive trading day on Monday, driven by limited demand from spinning mills. Simultaneously, there was an increase in the daily arrivals of Kapas in the state’s mandis.

Today's voting for 13 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra has led to subdued business activities. Traders report that due to weak yarn offtake, spinning mills are purchasing cotton only as needed. Additionally, ginning mills are experiencing a disparity at the current cotton prices.

Although cotton prices have risen in today's electronic trading on the ICE, they have declined in the global market over the current month. Cottonseed prices remained stable along with Kapas in the state.

The arrival of Kapas in Maharashtra's producer markets today was reported at 17,000 bales, up from 15,000 bales on the previous trading day.
