Mumbai, 20 May 2024 (Commoditiescontrol): Kabuli chana prices held steady in major mandis on Monday, underpinned by a balanced supply-demand dynamic. Container rates in the Indore market mirrored this stability, although underlying container trade activity softened due to muted export demand.
Today there was increase in arrivals in Madhypradesh markets but there was matching demand which kept prices steady. Indore manid witnessed arrival of 6,500 bags – a 500-bag increase from the prior session. Where as Madhya Pradesh major mandis witnessed a rise in Kabuli chana arrivals by 5000 quintals, reaching 31,000 quintals.
Market participants anticipate Kabuli chana prices will remain range-bound in the near term, citing ample domestic supply as a key factor. A recent price surge may also dampen local market demand. Export prospects remain lackluster, with buyers favoring alternative origins offering superior quality and competitive pricing.
