Ahmedabad, April 30 (CommoditiesControl): Coriander prices in Gujarat's spot market remained stable, with the market trading within a range due to low arrivals and limited demand. The upward trend in coriander witnessed a halt in the futures market, trading at lower levels today.
The market's trend will now depend on the arrival of coriander in the upcoming days. Traders note sluggish local demand amid the spice season, although some activity persists in exports. Overall, Gujarat's coriander market witnessed stability with no significant price movement today.
Around 22,000 bags, each weighing 40 kg, of coriander arrived in the state, with the average price remaining steady at Rs 1380-1580 per 20 kg.
In Gondal Mandi, 8,932 bags were traded within the price range of Rs. 1481-1821 against the arrival of 10,000 bags. Similarly, in Rajkot Mandi, 3,500 bags arrived with prices ranging from Rs. 1180 to Rs. 1750.
Arrivals included 1,200 bags in Halvad, 800 bags in Jetpur, 1,450 bags in Jamjodhpur, 1,200 bags in Junagadh, 400 bags in Amreli, 900 bags in Jamnagar, and around 2,500-2,700 bags in other mandis.
Dhaniya contract for MAY delivery settled at Rs 7450/quintal showing an fall of Rs -8 over previous close of Rs 7458/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7362-7470 for the day. Open interest decreased by -755 MT to 20595 MT, while trading volume increased by 190 to 3125 MT
Dhaniya contract for JUN delivery settled at Rs 7540/quintal showing an rise of Rs 6 over previous close of Rs 7534/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 7426-7558 for the day. Open interest increased by 1235 MT to 8105 MT, while trading volume increased by 330 to 2125 MT.
Currently The spread between MAY and JUN contract is -90 Rs/quintal.
