Ahmedabad, April 23 (CommoditiesControl): The fervor of Hanuman Jayanti enveloped the markets across Saurashtra and Banas Kantha-Sabar Kantha regions of North Gujarat today, as most mandis remained closed in observance of the the holiday. However, amid the holiday, Unja mandi stood apart, where trading activity took place. Notably, the day witnessed a significant spike in cumin prices, soaring by Rs 50 per 20 kg.
Unja mandi saw a substantial arrivals of around 20,000 bags. Off these 14,000 bags arrived from Rajasthan, while local sources contributed around 5,000 to 6,000 bags to the total supply.
Rough cumin prices quoted between Rs 3,650 to Rs 3,950 per 20 kg, while best quality quoted at Rs 4,300 to Rs 4,500 per 20 kg. Notably, Bombay Bold variety commanded prices between Rs 4,500 to Rs 5,300 per 20 kg.
