Mumbai, April 3 (CommoditiesControl): Small cardamom prices experienced a slight decrease, falling by Rs 10 per kilogram, attributed to improved arrivals in major markets. Despite this decline, domestic demand remained robust, providing support to the prices. However, market conditions have been characterized by high volatility in recent sessions, reflecting fluctuations in arrivals and demand dynamics. Reports indicate that domestic demand has weakened slightly.
The average price per kilogram dipped from Rs 1,520-1,620 in the previous session to Rs 1,510-1,610. Meanwhile, the maximum price per kilogram increased from Rs 1,942 to Rs 2,732.
Arrivals stood at 88,522 kg, showing an increase from the previous session's total of 72,988 kg. Offtake, or the quantity sold, also witnessed an uptick, reaching 88,522 kg compared to the previous day's 72,220 kg, driven by a decline in arrivals. With demand remaining strong, the offtake was reported at 100%.
Grade-specific rates continued to trade stable, with prices for 7 mm grades ranging from Rs 1,560 to Rs 1,650 per kg, Rs 1,700 to Rs 1,740 per kg for grades 7-8 mm, and Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,140 per kg for grades 8 mm and higher.
