Cotton Candy Prices Remain Stable in Madhya Pradesh; Daily Arrival Up

Indore, May 25 (Commodities Control): Cotton candy prices in Madhya Pradesh witnessed a significant rise of Rs 700 during the week ending on Saturday, while Kapas prices fell by Rs 300. Despite an increase in the arrival of Kapas in the state's mandis, prices remained stable.

On Saturday, the last trading day of the week, the arrival of Kapas in the mandis of Madhya Pradesh increased by 100 bales compared to Friday, totaling 900 to 1000 bales. The average price of Kapas remained stable, ranging between Rs 6000 to Rs 7300 per quintal.

However, cottonseed prices saw an increase. On Saturday, cottonseed prices rose by Rs 100 at the lower level to Rs 2750 per quintal and by Rs 150 at the upper level to Rs 3000 per quintal.

Cotton candy prices also experienced a rise during the week. The prices of 29 mm 75 RD cotton increased by Rs 200 to Rs 57000 per candy, while at the upper level, it increased by Rs 100 to Rs 57600 per candy. Prices of 28.5 mm cotton also rose, now ranging from Rs 56600 to Rs 56900 per candy.

Weekly Report (May 18 to May 25)
Over the past week, a total of 7200 bales of Kapas arrived in Madhya Pradesh. Cotton candy prices increased by Rs 600 to Rs 700. On May 18, 2024, the price of 29 mm 75 RD cotton candy ranged between Rs 56500 and Rs 57000. By May 25, 2024, prices reached Rs 57200 to Rs 57600, reflecting a Rs 700 increase at the lower level and a Rs 600 increase at the upper level.

Cottonseed prices also rose by Rs 100 to Rs 150. On May 18, cottonseed prices were between Rs 2750 and Rs 3000 per quintal, which increased to Rs 2850 to Rs 3150 per quintal by May 25.

Conversely, Kapas prices decreased by Rs 300 to Rs 100 over the week. On May 18, prices ranged from Rs 6300 to Rs 7400 per quintal. By May 25, prices were quoted between Rs 6000 and Rs 7300 per quintal, indicating a Rs 300 decrease at the lower level and a Rs 100 decrease at the upper level.

- Anjad: 16 quintals, Rs 7050 per quintal
- Kukshi: 6 quintals, Rs 7100 to Rs 7120 per quintal
- Barwah: 4 quintals, Rs 6000 to Rs 6350 per quintal
