The commencement of fresh groundnut arrivals in the Himmatnagar region of North Gujarat signals a promising start to the season. Traders anticipate forthcoming arrivals in other key centres, including Mahuva, post-election period, as farmers and laborers avail themselves for market activities. Peak arrivals are forecasted between May 15-20.
In Himmatnagar, 30 bags of new peanuts have debuted with a trading price of Rs 1201 per 20 kg, with regular arrivals expected within the next 10 days. Farmer participation is evident as early sown crops reach maturation, showcasing proactive market engagement.
Noteworthy market data reveals the arrival of approximately 12,475 sacks (1 sack = 35kg) in Gondal Mandi, with prices ranging from Rs 1216-1326 for average quality and Rs 1251-1351 for superior quality. Specifically, the coveted crushing quality BT-32 peanut commands a price of around Rs 1250 per 20 kg.
Rajkot Mandi witnesses the arrival of 6000 bags today, featuring average quality prices between Rs 1130-1275 and superior quality prices from Rs 1140-1330 per 20 kg. Meanwhile, Saurashtra reports a substantial influx of 20,000-22,000 bags of peanuts, reflecting robust market activity in the region.
