Ahmedabad, May 25 (CommoditiesControl): The coriander market in Gujarat saw a stability in prices with an increase in arrivals. Gondal Mandi witnessed the arrival of over 15,000 to 16,000 sacks of coriander, including some older stock. This surge in arrivals, driven by improved prices in recent days, has led to increased selling by farmers. Across Gujarat, over 35,000 bags were reported today, with Saurashtra alone seeing around 28,500 bags, each bag weighing 40 kg, of coriander.
Previously, coriander prices averaged between Rs 1390-1590 per 20 kg. However, with increased arrivals and selling activity, prices have remained stable.
Looking ahead, it's anticipated that coriander arrivals may continue at a good pace for the next week. However, the onset of rain could prompt farmers to shift their focus to sowing activities. There's a possibility of rain in Gujarat around June 2, with regular monsoon expected between June 15 and 20.
In Gondal Mandi, where 16,000 bags arrived, prices ranged from Rs 1471-1751. Meanwhile, in Rajkot Mandi, 2500 bags were traded at Rs 1250-1550.
Arrivals were also reported in Jetpur (650 sacks), Jamjodhpur (2500 sacks), Junagadh (3600 sacks), and surrounding areas (3000-3200 sacks). However, there was no arrival reported in Amreli, Halvad, and Jamnagar mandis.
