New Delhi, April 15 (Commoditiescontrol): The mentha oil market experienced subdued demand on Monday, with prices remaining nearly flat in both the spot market and futures. Traders attribute this trend to higher-than-expected sowing area, which has dampened market sentiment. Additionally, the abundant supply of synthetic mentha has contributed to poor industrial demand for the natural produce.
Mentha oil prices were quoted at Rs 1,016-1,018 per kg in Chandausi market, while prices in Barabanki market stood at Rs 982 per kg.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the benchmark contract of mentha oil for delivery in April traded Rs 1.2 lower at Rs 904.7 per kg. The contract reported an open interest of 435 and a volume of 49.

Mentha Oil contract for MAY delivery settled at Rs 915.5/quintal showing an fall of Rs -0.6 over previous close of Rs 916.1/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 914.3-918 for the day. Open interest increased by 6 MT to 153 MT, while trading volume decreased by -19 to 14 MT.
Mentha Oil contract for JUNE delivery settled at Rs 922/quintal showing an fall of Rs -0.2 over previous close of Rs 922.2/quintal,The contract moved in the range of Rs 920-924.7 for the day. Open interest increased by 2 MT to 137 MT, while trading volume decreased by -25 to 4 MT.
