Mumbai, May 2, (CommoditiesControl): Groundnut prices remained stable today, supported by demand for seed-quality nuts in anticipation of early Kharif sowing. Farmers with access to water resources are expected to begin sowing within the next 15-20 days, despite the delayed monsoon season.

In Gondal Mandi, seed-quality G-20 groundnuts traded at Rs 1350 per 20 kg, while Rohini-24 quality commanded Rs 1450 per 20 kg. Despite limited arrivals, this seed demand has provided a boost to the market.

Gondal and Rajkot Mandis reported arrivals of approximately 13,140 and 7,000 bags respectively (1 bag = 35 kg). Prices ranged from Rs 1211-1456 per 20 kg for average quality and Rs 1231-1371 for best quality in Gondal. Rajkot prices were Rs 1110-1265 for average quality and Rs 1130-1331 for best quality. Total arrivals across the Saurashtra region were estimated at 22,000-25,000 bags.
