Ahmedabad, April 27 (CommoditiesControl): Following the Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan on Friday, arrivals from the state were subdued. Consequently, with the Unjha market closed, business activity in Gujarat's cumin market remained limited. However, today witnessed a surge in arrivals, including those from Rajasthan, with approximately 25,000 bags arriving in the Unjha mandis alone. Across the entire state, arrival of a total of 42,000 cumin bags, with each bag weighing 55kg, were recorded, while prices remaining stable.

Cumin traders have noted a minimal selling activity from local farmers. Those farmers who intended to sell have already done so, leaving the remaining farmers reluctant to sell their produce without favorable prices. The market's direction will largely depend on the arrivals from Rajasthan in the coming days.

In today's trading at Unjha Mandi, out of the approximately 25,000 bags, 15,000-16,000 bags originated from Rajasthan, while 8,000-9,000 bags were from local sources. Prices for rough cumin ranged from Rs 3700-4000 per 20 kg, the best quality commanded Rs 4350-4550 per 20 kg, and Bombay bold was priced at Rs 4550-5350 per 20 kg.

In Gondal Mandi, where 556 bags arrived, prices ranged from Rs 4281-4601 per 20 kg. Meanwhile, in Rajkot Mandi, around 1,400 bags were received, with prices ranging from Rs 3800-4496.
