Mumbai, May 3 (CommoditiesControl): Small cardamom prices in major markets displayed mixed trends, with some centers witnessing a rise while others experienced a decline. Weak demand, triggered by a sudden price surge, has been noted despite reduced arrivals, exerting pressure on prices.
The average price per kilogram ranged between Rs 2,008 and Rs 2,061, showing a slight increase compared to the previous session's range of Rs 1,983 to Rs 2,121 per kg. However, the highest reported price saw a notable decrease from Rs 3,353 in the previous session to Rs 2,686 per kg.
Arrivals totaled 82,786 kg, marking a decrease from 118,678 kg reported during the previous session. Similarly, offtake stood at 81,817 kg, down from 112,054 kg reported previously, attributed to lower arrivals. The offtake rate was reported at 98.8%, compared to 96.2% in the previous session.
Despite these fluctuations, grade-specific rates have remained stable. Prices for 7 mm grades range from Rs 1,740 to Rs 1,820 per kg, Rs 1,920 to Rs 2,000 per kg for grades 7-8 mm, and Rs 2,200 to Rs 2,360 per kg for grades 8 mm and above.
