New Delhi, May 18 (Commodities Control): Cotton prices in the markets of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana remained stable for the third consecutive day on Saturday, driven by limited demand from spinning mills. The daily arrivals of Kapas in these states also remained steady.
Weather conditions in the cotton-growing regions of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been clear. Traders report that the recent decline in global cotton prices has made cotton exports from the domestic market unprofitable. Additionally, local demand for yarn has weakened, leading spinning mills in these states to purchase cotton only as needed. This cautious purchasing behavior has kept cotton prices stable in the spot market.
The total arrival of cotton in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana was 2,500 bales. Specifically, Andhra Pradesh recorded an arrival of 2,000 bales, while Telangana saw an arrival of 500 bales. These figures are consistent with the previous trading day's arrivals.
