Mumbai, May 11 (CommoditiesControl): Castor prices in Gujarat remained stable today due to subdued demand despite steady arrivals. Traders report that farmers are selling their castor stocks due to the low prices of other commodities like mustard, cumin, and fennel.
Approximately 135,000 sacks (35kg each) of castor arrived today, with 105,000 sacks from Gujarat and 20,000 from Rajasthan. 10,000 sacks were traded directly in Milo, with castor prices settling at Rs 1085-1100 per 20 kg.
The closure of the futures market led to minimal price fluctuations. Jagana Sheparso, N.K., and Kandla prices remained steady at Rs 1132, Rs 1140, and Rs 1120-1125 per 20 kg, respectively. Castor oil prices on Kandla delivery were also unchanged at Rs 1138-1140 per 10 kg.
